I watched that radiant amber ray
of the sun
As it fought its way through the slats
Stumbling over the broken window pane
Around the edges of the dried wood cracks
It moved in, purpose in its step
Sweeping its arc of time
As it fought its way through the slats
Stumbling over the broken window pane
Around the edges of the dried wood cracks
It moved in, purpose in its step
Sweeping its arc of time
As I sit draped in my creaking
chair
My cold heart sheathed in rime
My cold heart sheathed in rime
I felt it warming my cold bare feet
As it climbed up to my knees
And sat frolicking in my rueful lap
Drenching me in its flushed breathes
I knew in that instant of touching warmth
Someone, somewhere fights for me
Living me, loving me, in that silent sunbeam
To the depth and the core of my being
And I climb up, out of the sea,
Breathing air...Once again I live.
As it climbed up to my knees
And sat frolicking in my rueful lap
Drenching me in its flushed breathes
I knew in that instant of touching warmth
Someone, somewhere fights for me
Living me, loving me, in that silent sunbeam
To the depth and the core of my being
And I climb up, out of the sea,
Breathing air...Once again I live.
